We are glad to announce that our new and improved Resource Guides for victims of sexual abuse and parents of abuse victims in Oregon are now available. In the course of the last weeks, we have been collecting and reviewing all the relevant contact information of support and advocacy agencies in Oregon, taking great care to check every phone number and web address and to remove the ones that were outdated from our previous lists. A huge thank you goes to our partners of the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Abuse who provided us with wonderful introductory texts. We are very pleased and thankful to announce that we were recently awarded a $5,000 grant by the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund and a grant of the same amount by the Wildhorse Foundation of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, both intended to support our child abuse prevention and awareness program “End the Silence! Speaking Out Against Abuse.” In the course of this program, we will not only provide information and resources for parents and caregivers on how to recognize signs of abuse and how to report suspicions of abuse, but we will also work with prosecutors and law enforcement authorities in order to develop a range of effective AAC-based strategies for interviewing victims of abuse who experience speech and language disorders or intellectual and developmental disabilities. The grant we received from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund is intended specifically for bringing our program to Marion County, Oregon. The grant from Wildhorse Foundation will be used to bring our program to Umatilla, Morrow, Grant, and Union Counties.

Adler’s Voice is going to be at the Breaking Barriers conference on April 26th!
